SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team completed the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championship Saturday and freshman triple jumper
Rachel Toliver stole the show.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native set a new personal best with a jump of 39-6 (12.04m) to take fourth place in the event. Toliver posted the mark on her third jump but could not better that mark on her final three attempts. She becomes just the fourth UH athlete to eclipse the 12 meter mark.
Sophomore
Charlinda Ioane placed 10
th in the shot put with a throw of 44-10.75 (13.68m) while senior
Kaleigh Morrison matched her personal best in the high jump which she set one day earlier in the pentathlon competition with a clearance of 5-6 (1.68m) to take 10
th.
Behind Toliver's performance, which earned the team five points, the Rainbow Wahine placed 16
th overall in the final team standings.
The meet concludes the indoor season. UH begins the outdoor season by hosting the Leah Bennett Invitational, March 15 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
