FULLERTON, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (2-5, 1-1 Big West) dominated Cal State Fullerton (1-4, 0-2 Big West), 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Titan Tennis Courts in Fullerton, Calif. The win snapped their four-match losing streak as they evened their conference mark at 1-1.
 
Hawai'i snatched the first point in doubles play. The No. 2 pair of Rebecca Faltusz and Cindy Nguyen earned UH's first victory as they defeated CSF's Kalika Slevcove and Alexis Valenzuela, 8-3. The Titans' No. 3 duo of Rebekkah Ermac and Jessica Pepa rallied past UH's Martina Kostalova and Kelsey Daguio, 8-3 to even the doubles score. The final match was decided on the No. 1 court with the 'Bows Xenia Suworowa and Paulina Petriskova were given all that they could handle against the Titans' Camille De Leon and Morgan McIntosh. Suworowa and Petriskova won in nail biting fashion hanging on for a 8-7 (5) win to give UH the doubles point.
 
The 'Bows took their momentum into singles play. No. 5 Petriskova captured UH's first singles win as she cruised past CSF's Ermac in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. No. 4 Sarah Gealer got on the board as she swung past the Titans' Slevcove, 6-3, 6-1. Kostalova--who was making her first appearance for the 'Bows in 2014--would seal the win for UH in the No. 3 slot, holding off CSF's De Leon, 6-3, 6-4. Kostalova had missed UH's last six matches with an injury. No. 6 Faltusz went on to defeat the Titan's Pepa, 6-3, 6-0. In the tightest match of the day, No. 1 Nguyen edged out McIntosh 7-6 in the first set and then raced to a 6-2 win in the second set to give UH its sixth and final point.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will next face No. 61 San Diego at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. on Friday, . The matches will start at 2:00 p.m. PT.
