RIVERSIDE, Calif.— The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (3-7, 2-1 Big West) tennis team put out a dominating effort as they swept UC Riverside (0-11, 0-3 Big West), 7-0, at Andulka Park Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon in Riverside, Calif.

UH captured the doubles point, 2-1. The 'Bows No. 3 duo of Martina Kostalova and Sarah Gealer overpowered the Highlander's Sophie El-Kara and V.J. Ganesan, 8-1, to give UH the early edge. But the Highlanders tied the doubles with a win on the No. 1 court. UH's Cindy Nguyen and Rebecca Faltusz then captured the first point of the day defeating UC Riverside's Tiffany Jue and Thanh Doan 8-4, in the No. 2 position.

The 'Bows would continue to roll in singles play as they would win all of their matches to earn the victory. On the No. 4 court the 'Bows' Paulina Petriskova blanked her Highlander opponent El-Kara, 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 2 spot, the 'Bows' Xenia Suworowa defeated the Highlander's Bergeson, 6-0, 6-3. UH's No. 3 Kostalova took UCR's Jue in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. On the No. 1 court UH's Nguyen outplayed UCR's Almaguer, 6-0, 7-5 . In the No. 6 spot the 'Bows' Faltusz beat the Highlander's Ganesan, 6-0, 6-0. UH's No. 5 Gealer controlled her match against UCR's Doan, coasting to a 6-1, 6-0 win, completing the sweep for the 'Bows.

The Rainbow Wahine will remain on the road and face Pepperdine on Saturday, March 1st, at the Ralphs-Strauss Center in Malibu, Calif. The match will start at 11:00 a.m. PT.
