DAVIS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (14-10, 8-4 Big West) concludes its sixth roadtrip of the season at UC Davis (10-14, 5-6 Big West) on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 pm. The Rainbow Wahine are coming off a thrilling, buzzer-beating win at UC Irvine where Morgan Mason's put-back as time expired lifted UH to a 55-54 win over the Anteaters. It marked UH's third-straight conference win as the 'Bows moved into a tie for second place in the Big West with Cal Poly at 8-4.

Mason led Hawai'i at UC Irvine with 14 points and a career-high eight rebounds. Destiny King added 11 points, Shawna-Lei Kuehu chipped in with 10 points and Sydney Haydel pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds to help the 'Bows earn the "W". For the second straight game, Hawai'i was without the services of their leading scorer and rebounder, senior forward Kamilah Jackson due to an injury. UH's defense came through again, holding the UC Irvine nearly 20 points below their season scoring average while the 'Bows also out-rebounded the Anteaters, 40-to-31. The win evened UH's road conference record at 3-3.

UC Davis is looking to snap their three-game losing streak--but all three were tight conference battles. The Aggies fell at UC Irvine in overtime, 73-79 then dropped two consecutive games by the identcal score of 62-65 to Cal State Fullerton at home last week and at Long Beach State this past Thursday. UC Davis has a talented core with three players averaging over double-figures in points. Sydnee Fipps is the only Aggie to start all 24 games and she leads UCD, averaging 17.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Alyson Doherty is second on the team with 12.2 points and is tied with Fipps for the team-lead with 6.1 rebounds a game, while Kelsey Harris is third on the squad averaging 11.8 points an outing.

In the first meeting between the two teams on Jan. 23 earlier this season, UH came away with a 64-50 win in Honolulu. Kamilah Jackson led Hawai'i with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Head Coaches: Hawai'i head coach Laura Beeman is in her second season at the helm of the Rainbow Wahine program. She has a 31-24 record at UH. Prior to coming to Hawai'i, Beeman was a highly successful head coach at Mt. San Antonio junior college in Walnut, Calif. There, Beeman led the Mounties to a 390-110 record and four state championships and 10 conference titles. UC Davis' head coach Jennifer Gross is in her third season at the helm of the Aggies with a 39-45 career record.
