WAILUA, Kaua'i – The final round of the 38^th John A. Burns Intercollegiate has been canceled due to inclement weather. The island of Kaua'i is under a flash food warning and the tournament was shortened to 36 holes.
 
California was declared the tournament champion, winning its fourth consecutive Burns Intercollegiate title. The Golden Bears finished with a 560 total, nine strokes better than runner-ups Texas A&M and BYU (569).
 
BYU's Justin Keiley took medalist honors at 10-under 134. Defending champion Joel Stalter was runner-up at 6-under 138 while Arizona's Erik Oja was third at 5-under 139.

UH's "A" team placed 13th at 590 while the "B" team tied for 14th at 597.

UH senior Nainoa Calip was the highest finisher among UH's "A" and "B" teams. Playing for the "A" squad, the Hilo, Hawai'i native finished at even par 144 (73-71) for a tie for 18th place. Also competing for the "A" squad was senior David Saka tied for 48th at 5-over 149 (76-73). Junior Brian Lee tied for 39th with a 4-over 148 with rounds of 75 and 73. Freshman Skye Inakoshi tied for 56th at 150 (76-74) while sophomore Scotty Yamashita tied for 80^th at 155 (75-80).
 
The "B" team is led by sophomore Justin Chu, who tied for 39^th at 4-over 148 (75-73). Senior Tommy Yamashita and junior Ryan Kuroiwa tied for 48^th at 149 (74-75). Freshmen Zachary Braunthal tied for 64th at 151 (75-76) while freshman Pono Tokioka finished 84^th at 156 (80-76).

The Rainbow Warriors will next compete at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, March 21-23 in Tempe, Ariz.
