Box Score (html)NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine soccer team closed the season on Sunday afternoon with a scoreless draw against CSUN at Matador Soccer Field. The 'Bows wrap up the season at 7-10-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the Big West Conference with the Matadors finishing the regular season at 7-10-2 and 4-3-1 in league play.
UH entered the final week of the season mathematically eliminated from Big West postseason play, but finished with a win and a tie including two road shutouts to close the season. The 'Bows held their opponent scoreless for just the second time this season, both coming against UC Irvine and CSUN this past week.
Erica Young started and posted three saves in net for the Rainbow Wahine. She was spelled in the 66
th minute for
Monk Berger who played the rest of the second half and both overtime periods.
Storm Kenui and
Kama Pascua were active on the attack, posting nine shots between them. CSUN keeper Jovani McCaskill was the woman of the match, foiling UH bids on goal time and time again to the tune of nine saves in the 110 minutes.
