Final ResultsRIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team placed ninth at the Big West Conference Championships Saturday at Agricultural Operations Course located near the UC Riverside campus.
The Rainbow Wahine totaled 258 points and were led by freshman
Montana Martinez, who placed 41
st overall, completing the 6K race in 22:35.8. The Harbor City, Calif., native finished her rookie season by leading the Rainbow Wahine in all seven full-squad competitions.
"Excellent races today," cross country coach
Tim Boyce said. "Huge improvement on this course from September with top five averaging 1:30 better than at UCR Invite. Great race by Montana, she ran a very smart race to run a huge PR. I'm proud of the efforts and excited for the future of the program."

UC Davis captured the team title with 36 total points as all five runners placed among the top 12 finishers. UCR's Raquel Hefflin took top individual honors with a time of 20:12.6, edging UCD's Christine Hoffman (20:22.7).
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the NCAA West Regionals, Friday, Nov. 14 in Stanford, Calif.
