Rainbow Sailors Place Third At PCCSC Match Race

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i opened the 2014-15 season with a tie for third place at the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference Match Racing Championship held Oct. 4-5 in San Diego.

UH went 3-3 over the weekend, picking up head-to-head wins against Cal, UC Irvine and USC and falling to Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara and Stanford.  Sailing for the Rainbows were Adam Pokras, Colton Saunders, Katrina Berry and Mackenzie Cook. Stanford went a perfect 6-0 to win the regatta, while UC Santa Barbara placed in second.

 Next up for the Rainbows is the Stoney Burke Intersectional, Oct. 18-19, in San Francisco.
