HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued their strong play on Day 2 of the UH Anuenue Invitational. The Rainbow Wahine captured two of their three doubles matches and swept all their singles matches at the UH Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon.
 
In doubles, the UH duo of Cindy Nguyen and Viktoria Malova knocked off Hawai'i Pacific's Lea Kruse-Utermann and Julia Sauer, 8-6. The other two doubles matches were extremely tight and were decided by tie breaker. UH's Sarah Gealer and Rebecca Faltusz edged out HPU's Vivian Hansen and Sofia Tavitian, 8-7 (4) while the Sharks' Lorena Gheorghe and Kristyna Hancarova held off the 'Bows' Paulina Petriskova and Martina Kostalova, 8-7 (4).
 
In singles, the Rainbow Wahine were dominant winning all seven of their matches. After a close first set, Gealer blanked Hawai'i Pacific's Sauer in the second set to win, 7-5, 6-0.Malova took the first set by tie-breaker then cruised to a 7-6 (4), 6-1 win over HPU's Hansen. Daisy Green proved to be too much for Chaminade's Bonnie Hewitt, 6-0, 6-1 while Faltusz defeated Silversword Kim Takara in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. Hawai'i won their remaining three matches over HPU opponents in three sets. Petriskova outlasted Hancarova, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Nguyen and Gheorge split their first two sets before Nguyen was able to pull away in the third to win, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 while Kostalova won the first set handily but fell in the second by tie breaker before bouncing back to defeat Kruse-Utermann, 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2.
 
The tournament will conclude on Monday morning with matches beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
