VIDEO: "Huddle Up" With Hayden GibsonThe University of Hawai'i women's soccer team (6-9, 1-4 Big West) plays host to its final home match of the season when it faces UC Davis (4-10-3, 1-3-2 BWC) on Friday, Oct. 24 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. Six departing players—
Alexis Colacchio,
Korinne Estrada,
Hayden Gibson,
Ashley Haruki,
Krystal Pascua and
Olivia Stanford—will be honored following the match as part of Senior Night festivities.
The Rainbow Wahine are in "must-win" mode in each of their final three matches. UH currently sits in ninth in the Big West standings and must climb to fourth in the standings to qualify for the Big West Tournament. Following its match versus the Aggies, UH closes the season on the road at UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge.
UH will have more than a week to prepare for its final home match after playing its last match on Oct. 16, a 2-0 home loss to Long Beach State. The Rainbow Wahine look to get back on track offensively after being shutout in each of the last two matches. The UH defense has improved in the last month, though are still seeking their first clean sheet of the season.
This will be just the third all-time meeting between the squads. UH won both previous meetings—a 3-2 home win in 2012 and a 2-0 road victory last year.
