Full ResultsSAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow coed team placed second and the Rainbow Wahine placed 10th in the 26th Annual Stoney Burke Intersectional held on Oct. 18-19. The runner-up finish ended a string of five straight years in which the Rainbows claimed the Stoney Burke title.
A total of 28 teams competed in the regatta. The clear skies and warm weather created a challenge for those competing as only a total of 12 races—six each in the A and B divisions—were completed over the weekend. UCSB won the regatta handily with a 20-point total. The UH coed team placed second with 75 points, just edging out third-place Stanford with 76.
Chuck Eaton and
Patrick Manuel managed to get the Rainbows to third place in Division A and
Giacomo Paoletti and
Katrina Berry sailed for sixth place in Division B.
The Rainbow Wahine scored a total of 142 points between Division A and B.
Cecilia Jansson and
Louise Currie sailed for 12th place in Division A and
Caitlin Schadt and
Maddie Anzivino sailed for 11th place for the Rainbow Wahine in Division B.
Next up, the University of Hawai'i will compete in the PCCSC Men's and Women's Singlehanded Championships, as well as the PCCSC Women's Fall Dinghy Championship in Stanford, Calif. October 24-26.
