Final Team ResultsLA'IE, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team significantly improved their times in a third place finish at the Chaminade Invitational, Saturday morning, at the BYU-Hawai'i campus.
Hawai'i Pacific captured the team title with 21 points followed by BYUH (38), UH (65), UH-Hilo (135), and Chaminade (160).
The Rainbow Wahine competed on the same course three weeks ago for the BYU-Hawai'i Invitational and most of the team posted improved marks on Saturday. All five of UH's top finishers placed in the Top 20 led by freshman
Montana Martinez, who placed seventh and completed the 5K race in 19:30. Senior
Louise Mulvey led a three-runner contingent behind Martinez at 20:27 for 12
th place followed by freshman
Alexa Foster (20:37, 13
th), and sophomore
Caitlyn Foss (20:42, 14
th).
"By far our best team effort of the season," cross country coach
Tim Boyce said. "Many ran significantly faster than three weeks ago on the same course, a very positive day for the group overall."
