HONOLULU – Results from Saturday's Sunrise Meet #1 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
Freshman
Raion Black won two events – 150-meters and 300-meters – and placed second in the 60-meters. The 'Ewa Beach, O'ahu native ran 19.17 seconds in the 150 and 42.70 seconds in the 300 and was just edged out by teammate Andre Hinkle in the 60. Hinkle crossed the finish line in 8.26 seconds compared to 8.32 seconds for Black.
Among the other highlights included senior
Kevyn Murphy, who captured the 3000-meters in a time of 10.41.97. Junior pole vaulter
Robyn Morioka set a meet record after clearing 12-5.5 (3.80m) while senior multi-event athlete
Kaleigh Morrison equaled her long jump distance at this year's inter-squad meet with a mark of 18-3.24 (5.57m).
Junior thrower
Mia Lopez captured both the hammer (134-4/40.95m) and shot put (40-2.25/12.25m) events while senior
Joanna Franke-Kuhn won the weight throw with a distance of 52-0 (15.86m).
HPU's Fermh Murillo-Villgren set a new stadium record in the 1000-meters, clocking in at 2:37.38,
