Tournament Bracket

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior tennis team takes aim at their first Big West Conference title when it travels to Indio, Calif. for the 2013 BWC Tournament on Apr. 25-28 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
 
The Warriors (7-12, 4-2 BWC) head into the tournament as the No. 4 seed and will play the fifth-seeded UC Santa Barbara (9-13, 2-4 BWC) on Thursday, Apr. 25 at 8:00 a.m. PT (5:00 a.m. HT). The winner will take on No. 1 seed UC Irvine (9-16, 5-1 BWC).
 
This will be the second straight meeting when the Gauchos and Warriors hit the courts. UH topped UCSB in their regular season finale. UCSB dominated doubles play, but UH stormed back in singles as they took four matches. With the match tied 3-3, Dmytro Kovalyov went through a grueling three set match, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7), against Sasha Gryaznov on the No. 3 Court.
 
Kovalyov has been a force on the No. 3 Court, where he holds a 6-2 overall dual match record. Nils Schuhmann is another bright spot on the singles court boasting a 12-5 overall record and 5-1 in conference play.
 
Ziad Sultan of the Gauchos has a 13-7 singles record, and is 2-3 in conference play. Sultan has won his last two singles matches, including his match defeat of UH's Jared Spiker last week. The Sultan and Grayznov duo have only been paired twice, but have won the last two matches on the No. 3 Court.

Match #6 – Winner of Match No. 1 vs. Winner of Match No. 2 (3:00 p.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. HT))
