Game Notes
HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team earned its seventh invitation in school history to the Women's National Invitational Tournament after posting a 17-13 overall record and 13-5 mark in the Big West Conference. Hawai'i will travel to southern California to battle San Diego (21-9, 12-4 WCC) on Thursday, March 21 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. It is the first time in 10 years that the Rainbow Wahine have advanced to the post-season.
Overall, this is the 12th time in UH history that the 'Bows will play in the post-season. Hawai'i has made it into the WNIT six times previously in 1982-83, 1991-92, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2001-02, and 2002-03. UH has also gone to five NCAA tournaments in 1988-89, 1989-90, 1993-94, 1995-96, and 1997-98.
The women's basketball team finished the Big West conference regular season in a tie for second with Cal Poly. The 'Bows entered the BWC tournament as the No. 3 Seed (due to tie-breakers) but fell in their opening game at the Big West Tournament last Thursday to Cal State Fullerton. This was UH's first year back in the Big West after spending the last 16 seasons in the Western Athletic Conference.

Martin—who became the first UH player in six years to garner first-team all-conference honors—is the only Rainbow Wahine to start all 30 games this season.
