Game Notes vs. USC
Game Notes vs. Grand Canyon

The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (6-4, 0-0 Big West) will play its final games of 2013 on the road at USC on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2:00 p.m. and at Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Ariz. on Monday, Dec. 23 at 7:00 p.m. The Rainbow Wahine split this past week's road games, falling at Oregon State, but bouncing right back for a gritty, come-from-behind win at Pacific in which the 'Bows overcame an 18-point, first half deficit to win the game by 11.

Hawai'i continues to be led by senior forward Kamilah Jackson who is averaging a career-high 18.1 points with 10.4 rebounds a game. She has recorded seven double-doubles in 10 games this season and has been extremely tough in the post both on offense and defense. She has recorded double-digit points in every game this season. Jackson is also tied with fellow senior Sydney Haydel for the team lead with 12 steals. Ashleigh Karaitiana is second on the team averaging 10.3 points per game and leads UH with 14 3-pointers while Destiny King has been solid across the board for the 'Bows. King leads UH with 27 assists and is second on the team averaging 5.4 rebounds while adding 7.4 points per game. Also, joining the team this week is 6-1 junior center, Kalei Adopho who recently completed the women's volleyball season. Adolpho, who has appeared in 43 games with 21 starts on the hardwood, has averaged 4.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game with 38 blocks in her career.

The Rainbow Wahine will take on their fourth Pac-12 opponent of the season, USC (5-4, 0-0 Pac-12) at the Galen Center on Saturday. Hawai'i is 1-2 this year against Pac-12 teams with a home win over Washington State and road losses at Arizona State and Oregon State. It marks a return for both UH head coach Laura Beeman and assistant coach Mary Wooley, who both were assistants at USC prior to coming to Hawai'i. The Women of Troy are coming off a one-point loss at Cal State Northridge on Dec. 10 and will face St. Mary's on Thursday night before facing the 'Bows on Saturday. USC is led by Ariya Crook who is averaging 16.1 points a game and has drilled 21-of-50 3-pointers thus far this season. She also leads the squad with 17 steals. On the boards, Alexyz Vaioletama has cleared an average of 8.4 rebounds a game for a team-high.

Hawai'i will then head to Phoenix, Ariz. to take on Grand Canyon of the Western Athletic Conference. GCU is off to an impressive 9-2 start this season and is currently on a four-game wining streak. The Antelopes have four players averaging in double-figures in points, led by Judy Jones' 14.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. It is the first meeting between Grand Canyon and Hawai'i.
