Men's Golf Completes Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational

Final Results

PRINCEVILLE, Kaua`i--The University of Hawai`i men's golf team completed its Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawai`i-Black team finished in 17th while the Hawai`i-Green was 18th. The Black Team recorded its best round of the three-day tournament, finishing at 294-292-289=875.

Freshman Skye Inakoshi finsished strong to lead the Black and be UH's top finisher tied for 33rd place firing a career-low 3-under 69 with a tourney total of 3-under, 71-73-69=213. Inakoshi moved up five spots up the leaderboard after carding five birdies on 18, 2, 6, 8, and 11 with bogeys on 1 and 7. David Saka finished tied in 58 after shooting a 74-70-74=218.

The Hawai`i-Green team was led by Brian Lee who completed the Invitational tied for 41st place. Lee followed his career low of 66 with a 74 and 75 to finish at 215 at 1-under par. Ryan Kuroiwa fired his second-straight 73 to finish tied for 72nd with a final tally of 76-73-73=222. Both Zachary Braunthal and Justin Chu posted even par 72 to finish in a tie for 77th and 80th place respectively.

The team competition was won by Cal State Fullerton, who entered the last three holes tied with Louisville, edged out the Cardinals by one stroke, finishing at 42-under, 272-274-276=822. Individually, there was a three-way tie for first after regulation between Robert Geibel (Louisville), Mark Anguiano (CSU Fullerton), and Chad Ramey (Mississippi State). Geibel won on the first playoff hole with a birdie on hole No. 9.

The Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational concludes the fall season for the Rainbow Warriors. Their next tournament will be Feb.6-8 at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings Course in Waikoloa, Hawai`i.
