Kuehu was and efficient 5-for-8 in field goals and 4-for-6 from the charity stripe.

Hawai`i's defense stymied the visiting Vulcans, forcing 28 UHH turnovers with 17 steals which directly led to 32 UH points. The 'Bows outrebounded their sister school 38-to-24 and used their size advantage to outscore UHH 38-to-10 in the paint. The 'Bows also swatted seven shots—three coming from point guard Morgan Mason in her first game donning the green and white. As a team, UH shot 54.0% from the floor (27-for-50) but struggled from the freethrow line, shooting just 51.7% (15-of-29).

In the first half, the 'Bows jumped out to an early 9-2 lead with 13 minutes left and never looked back. Hawai`i extended it to 19-8 with five minutes left in the first half and eventually went into the break with a 30-16 lead fueled by an 11-3 run to end the first half. Kuehu also led UH with five rebounds while Kamilah Jackson and Karaitiana had four each in the first 20 minutes of the game.

The 'Bows came out of the break and started right where they left off, scoring the first six points to extend their run to 17-to-3, increasing their lead to 36-16 within the first three minutes of the second half. The 'Bows and Vulcans then traded baskets until about the eight minute mark the Hawai`i took control, ending the game on a 24-to-5 run.

A crowd of about 300 attended the home opening exhibition game. Admission was free with a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Hawaii FoodBank.

The Rainbow Wahine officially open their season next week on Saturday, Nov. 9 on the road at Arizona State. The 'Bows will then head north a couple hours to Flagstaff to face Northern Arizona on Nov. 10. Hawai`i will return for their home opening Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic the following week from Nov. 15-17.
