SAN DIEGO, Calif – Seven members of the University of Hawai'i women's tennis team will travel to San Diego, Calif. to play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) West Regional Championships, which runs from Oct. 17-21 and is hosted by San Diego State at the Barnes Tennis Center.
 
Representing the Rainbow Wahine this week will be Kelsey Daguio, Rebecca Faltusz, Sarah Gealer, Martina Kostalova, Cindy Nguyen, Paulina Petriskova, and Xenia Suworowa. The 'Bows rolled through their opening `Anuenue Invitational earlier this month over BYU-Hawai`i and a split Chaminade team. Hawai`i talied a 19-3 singles record and a 10-3 mark in doubles over the three-day tournament held at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
During the `Anuenue Invitational, UH's doubles teams did well—led by the duo of senior captain Suworowa and freshman Nguyen who went undefeated. They were the only pair to play all three matches as the coaches tried different combinations during the tourney. In singles action, four players— Faltusz, Nguyen, Petriskova, and Suworowa—all were a perfect 3-0 in the season opening event.
 
This week's tournament features players representing West Region teams. More information on match schedule and teams will be forthcoming.
