SONOMA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in 16
th place Monday at the Sonoma Golf Club.
Leading the Rainbow Warriors was senior
Tommy Yamashita, who is currently tied for 35
th place, after rounds of 73 and 72 for a 1-over 145 total. The Honolulu native got off to a strong start in both rounds, carding three birdies each through his first nine holes.
Host and fourth-ranked California has a 21-stroke lead after two rounds with a 541 total. Cal's Joel Stalter is the day one leader at 11-under (64-69), one stroke over teammates Brandon Hagy (70-64) and Pace Johnson (66-68).
The Warriors, who have a 597 total (300-297), played the second round with just four individuals as senior
David Saka was forced to withdraw due to illness after a first round 80.

Skye Inakoshi (75-77/t69), sophomore
Scotty Yamashita (78-75/t73).
The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
