KANE'OHE, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team completed its 12^th Big Wave Invitational with a fifth place finish Saturday at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Hawai'i.
 
The host Rainbow Wahine scored 133 team points while their top finisher was freshman Kelsie Kobayashi, who completed the 5K course in 20:35 for 27^th place.
 
Alaska-Anchorage dominated the field with seven of its runners finishing in the Top 10, including individual champion Susan Tanui, who ran 18:09, just ahead of Hawai'i Pacific's Polina Babkina (18:16). The two runners also finished first and second at last week's HPU Invitational.
 
The Sea Wolves, finished sixth in last year's final NCAA Division II rankings, tallied 20 points followed by HPU (58), Brigham Young-Hawai'i (70), George Fox (122), UH (133), Chaminade (171), and UH-Hilo (180).
 
Also among UH's top five finishers were Louise Mulvey (20:47, 30^th), Amity Gregg (21:06, 34^th), Megan Dart (21:27, 36^th), and Amanda Lee (21:49, 38^th).

UH team captain Kevyn Murphy ran unattached while awaiting clearance from the NCAA. She finished 11^th overall at 19:21. Also competing for UH were Heather Delgado (21:57, 42^nd), Melody Papalii (22:17, 43^rd), Bronte Kaneakua (22:23, 45^th), Rebekah Phillips (23:18, 49^th), and Erin Carvalho (23:28, 50^th).
  
In the 5K men's race, UAA captured both the team and individual titles. The Sea Wolves scored a perfect 15 points as their five finishers took the top spots led by winner Micah Chelimo (15:43), who edged teammate Dylan Anthony (15:47).
