Harriers Takes Third At Chaminade Invite

WAIPIO, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team completed the Chaminade Invitational with a third place finish, Saturday at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
 
The Rainbow Wahine placed four runners in the Top 20, including freshman Amity Gregg, who finished 13th with a time of 18:48.6 in the 3-mile race.
 
Hawai'i Pacific captured the team title with 26 points as its top five finishers finished among the Top 10. BYU-Hawaii was second (43) followed by UH (79) and Chaminade (87).
 
Chaminade's Emily Oschner won the race to the finish in 17:03.7, just ahead of HPU's Polina Babkina (17:04.4).
 
For the Rainbow Wahine, Gregg was the top finisher followed by junior Amanda Lee (19:27.1, 17th), freshman Kelsie Kobayashi (19:36.5, 18th), senior Megan Dart (19:37.7, 20th), and sophomore Heather Delgado (20:36.7, 24th).
 
Also competing for UH were freshman Sara Silverman (21:15.2, 25th), freshman Erin Carvalho (21:36.0, 28th), and junior Melody Papalii (21:49.7, 29th).
 
UH will next compete in the Stanford Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 29.
