Ricketts Named Verizon WAC Pitcher of the Week

DENVER – University of Hawai'i softball pitcher Stephanie Ricketts was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, for March 19-25. This is the fourth of the season and 11th overall for Ricketts.
  
Ricketts, a senior from San Jose, Calif., went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts against San Jose State. She did not allow an earned run in 13.0 innings of work while holding the Spartans to a .136 batting average. In the series finale, Ricketts fired her fifth no-hitter of her career. She had three walks and five strikeouts and did not allow a runner past second base. It was Ricketts' seventh shut-out of the year.
 
On the season, Ricketts is 16-2 with a 0.88 ERA in 120.0 innings pitched. She has held opponents to a .163 batting average with 43 walks and 139 strike outs. She has completed all 18 games that she has started this season.
 
The Rainbow Wahine (26-3, 2-1 WAC) hit the road for a pivotal, eight-game road trip. The 'Bows start off in Las Cruces, N.M. to battle defending champions New Mexico State (18-16, 0-3 WAC) in a three-game series beginning with a single game on Friday, March 30 at 6:00 pm (MT) and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 31 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
