LOGAN, Utah—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (11-17, 6-7 WAC) fell in their final Western Athletic Conference game at Utah State, 85-64 on Thursday night. Three Rainbow Wahine scored in double-figures against the Aggies led by senior Breanna Arbuckle's 18 points while Kamilah Jackson posted her 15th double-double of the season with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Arbuckle was 7-for-12 from the loor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line to notch double digits in points for her sixth game out of the last seven. She added three rebounds with two assists, three steals and a blocked shot. Jackson came through with a yeoman performance coming off the bench after being out ill the last couple of days. Jackson was an efficient 7-for-11 in field goals with one 3-pointer and 2-of-3 from the charity stripe. Vicky Tagalicod added 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting with a trey. She chipped in with four rebounds, an assist and a steal while Sydney Haydel dished out a team-high five assists.

After taking an early 3-2 lead, the 'Bows got blitzed, on the wrong end of a 15-0 run by the Aggies. USU was ahead by 16 points at 25-9 mid-way through the first half, but UH started to battle back, going on a 9-to-4 run to close within 11 with 5:25 left. But The Aggies then pulled away again, ending the half on an 11-to-5 run and a 40-23 lead at the break. Devyn Christensen and Ashlee Brown led the Aggies with 13 and 12 points apiece after the first 20 minutes of action.

Hawai'i tried to battle back in the second half, cutting their deficit to just 11 points with 9:49 left and again later at the 3:20 mark on a pair of Jackson free throws. But a couple of UH turnovers that led to Utah State layups with less than two minutes remaining sealed the Aggies' win.

Utah State edged out Hawai'i 30-to-28 in points in the paint and UH had a slight advantage with 13-to-11 second chance points. But the Aggies dominated the 'Bows, 33-to-8 in points off turnovers.  USU forced UH to commit 20 turnovers—13 in the first half alone—while the Aggies gave up just 10 miscues.

The Aggies were led by Christensen who tallied a game-high 23 points, Brown who added 21 and Brooke Jackson who had 19 points.

Hawai'i will now make their way to Moscow, Idaho to battle the Vandals in a crucial WAC tilt on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:00 pm PT. It will be the final regular season WAC game for the 'Bows. The team will then stay on the mainland for the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. starting on Wednesday, March 7-Saturday, March 10, 2012.
