LAS CRUCES, N.M.—The University of Hawai`i women's basketball team (8-15, 3-5 WAC) travels to Las Cruces, N.M. to face New Mexico State (5-19, 2-7 WAC. The Rainbow Wahine are looking bounce back against the Aggies after dropping four straight games.
Leading the way for the 'Bows is sophomore forward
Kamilah Jackson who is averaging a double-double with 13.2 points and a conference-high 10.7 rebounds per game. Jackson is currently ranked 15th in the NCAA DI in rebounds per game and she is ranked No. 12 in double-doubles this season. Jackson has increased production across the board this year with 48 assists, 16 blocks and 19 steals. In conference action she is averaging a WAC-high 11.9 boards and is 14th in conference with 10.9 points per game.
Sophomore forward/guard
Vicky Tagalicod has also made an impact for the team from day one. Tagalicod—a transfer from USC who had sat out until mid-December— is second on the team with 10.4 points overall. She has been a consistent producer on offense who has also filled the role as back up point guard when freshman
Alissa Campanero takes a breather during the game. Tagalicod is also averaging 5.1 rebounds per game and has 14 assists, five blocks and seven steals overall.
New Mexico State currently has a 5-19 overall record with a 2-7 mark in conference. The Aggies are led by their senior sensation Tabytha Wampler who is averaging a team-high 13.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. In their first meeting this season on Jan. 21 in Honolulu, Wampler torched the 'Bows for a game-high 24 points and nine boards. Wampler is the only Aggie to start all 24 games this season. Senior guard Kaitlyn Soto leads NMSU with 1.9 assists per game while junior Camila Rosen has a team-high 1.2 steals per game.
Aggies head coach Mark Trakh has an overall record of 294-206 and is in his 19th season. He is in his first season at New Mexico State and is 5-19 overall,

Coaches: Dana Takahara-Dias is in her third year at UH with an overall record of 29-54 and in the WAC she is 12-28. Mark Trakh is in his first season at New Mexico State, but has a 17-year history as a head coach previously at USC and Pepperdine at 294-206.
Series Information: The two teams are tied at 15-to-15. Earlier this season, the 'Bows held off the Aggies 51-48 in Honolulu. Last season, the two teams split their regular season games with NMSU winning in Honolulu, 74-58 and Hawai`i winning in Las Cruces, N.M., 57-52. The Agggies, however, defeated the 'Bows 71-59 in the first round of the 2011 WAC tournament.
