Men's Swimming Makes A Splash In First MPSF Appearance

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's swimming team kicked off its first-ever Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship appearance excelling in two relay races at the East Los Angeles College pool.
 
The team of Vlad Anastasescu, Perry Sharify, Ryan Pickett, and Sean Reilly finished second in the 200 Medley Relay in 1:28.84 behind first place Nevada-Las Vegas (1:26.16). In the 800 freestyle relay, a team of Gen Yamamoto, Jose Gonzalez, Lazar Bogdanovski, and James Clark took third in a time of 6:43.22.
 
Tomorrow the Rainbow Warriors continue the championships with the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle events and the 400 Medley Relay.

The men's 1-meter dive will also take place tomorrow, Feb. 16 at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
