Game Notes
The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will renew an old rivalry this week when it travels to Air Force for a nationally televised Mountain West game, Friday, Nov. 16 at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. Kick-off is 7:30 p.m. MT (4:30 p.m. HT) and will air on ESPN2.
The game marks the first meeting between the old Western Athletic Conference rivals since 2001. The winner of the game will be awarded the Kuter Trophy, a tradition that started in 1980 when both teams were members of the WAC. UH currently holds the Kuter Trophy after winning the last meeting in 2001, snapping a four-game Air Force win streak.
The Warriors (1-8, 0-6 MW) will look to snap a seven-game losing streak, which is tied for the second longest in school history. UH, which is coming off a 49-14 loss to Boise State last week in Honolulu, has also lost its last nine conference games and six road games dating back to last season.
The Falcons (5-5, 4-2) need one win in their final two games to become bowl eligible for the sixth consecutive year. Air Force enters this week's game having lost their last two - at San Diego State (28-9) last week and at Army (41-21) two weeks ago.

Battle For The Kuter Trophy
The Kuter Trophy (pronounced COO-ter) is named for the late General Laurence S. Kuter, who was the first head of the Pacific Air Forces Command in 1957. It is a striking tribute to the friendship between the schools and to the cooperation between the people of Hawai'i and the Air Force. It was conceived by UH, sponsored by the Pacific Air Command, and designed by the Air Force Academy. The Kuter Trophy was presented to the winner of the annual game from 1980-97 when both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference. Air Force left the conference in 1998 and the rivalry was later renewed in 2001, the last meeting between the teams. UH currently holds the Kuter Trophy after winning that game, 52-30 in Honolulu.
