Game Notes
The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will play its third road game with a Mountain West contest at San Diego State, Saturday, Oct. 6 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Calif. Kick-off is 5:00 p.m. PT (2:00 p.m. HT) and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
The Warriors (1-3, 0-1 MW) are coming off a 47-0 loss to Brigham Young last week in Provo, Utah. It marked the first time UH was shutout since 1998, a span of 182 straight games and its largest margin of defeat since 2004. The Warriors produced 149 yards of total offense, their fewest in 12 years and surrendered 396 yards rushing to the Cougars, the highest total by a UH opponent since 2004.
The Aztecs (2-3, 0-1) lost a shoot-out to Fresno State, 52-40 in Fresno, Calif. SDSU held a 21-7 lead after the first quarter – before allowing 27 straight points in the second quarter – and led 40-36 in the third quarter until the Bulldogs scored the game's final 17 points. Quarterback Ryan Katz passed for 160 yards and two touchdowns, with three interceptions, and rushed for a team-high 89 yards including a 67 yard scamper.
The teams were former Western Athletic Conference rivals before SDSU left for the Mountain West in 1999. The Aztecs leads the overall series 15-9-2 and have won the last five games played in San Diego, Calif.

Warrior Storylines
The former Western Athletic Conference rivals will meet for the first time since 2005…UH has won the last two meetings between the schools (2002 & '05), both games played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu…SDSU leads the all-time series 15-9-2, including a 7-3 advantage in San Diego…The Aztecs have won the last five games played in San Diego. UH's last win over the Aztecs in San Diego was in 1988 (32-30)…The Warriors last win at Qualcomm Stadium was in the 1992 Holiday Bowl, where they defeated Illinois, 27-17…UH is making its fourth of six national TV games this season and is 0-3 thus far…The last time UH started a season 1-3 was in 2008, when it finished the regular season 7-6 and earned a trip to the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl.
