WAIPAHU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team got back in the win column with a 3-2 victory over UC Davis Friday night at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 7-8-2 overall and 2-4 in the Big West.
UH scored the match's first two goals and controlled much of the match, but had to hold off a game Aggie squad (7-7-2, 2-3-1 BWC) who twice cut the lead to just one goal.

Tiana Fujimoto and
Alex Gerrain each found the back of the net for the Rainbow Wahine.
With the win, Hawai'i kept its hopes alive for the conference postseason tournament, while continuing its home dominance as the team has now gone undefeated in 13 of its last 14 matches.
The Rainbow Wahine looked sharp from the get-go in the first-ever meeting between the squads on the pitch,. UH got a pair of goals in a three-minute span, both on strong individual efforts by Pascua (14
th minute) and Fujimoto (17
th minute). By halftime, UH had out-shot UC Davis 10-1.
But the Aggies changed the complexion of the match just four minutes into the second half when Lexi Popoff lofted a shot over UH goalkeeper
Kanani Taaca to make it a 2-1 match.
Hawai'i regained its two-goal margin, when Gerrain rocketed a shot by UC Davis goalkeeper Taylor Jern in the 77
th minute. But again the Aggies wouldn't go away as Ashley Edward's open-net goal in the 87
th minute. UH, however clamped down in the closing minutes to secure the win. The Rainbow Wahine ended the match with a 14-6 advantage in shots.
The Rainbow Wahine will now play their final home match of the season when they host Pacific on Sunday, Oct. 21. Departing players
