Kalei Adolpho, who tied her career-high with 14 points off the bench, while
Kamilah Jackson grabbed a game-high nine rebounds at the Save Mart Center on Saturday night.
Adolpho shot 5-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. She also had three rebounds and two blocks in 22 minutes of action. Jackson had her double-double streak stopped at three, but she was able to score eight points and two assists in addition to her nine boards.
The 'Bows got off to a rocky start and were never able to quite get their feet under them, while Fresno States' stifling defense forced UH to commit a season-high 30 turnovers which the Bulldogs scored 36 points off of. Hawai`i scored the first two points of the game on a Jackson layup, but from that point, Fresno State poured it on with a 22-2 run to build a lead that UH was never able to cut into.
The Bulldogs' were led by sophomore Ki-Ki Moore who had a game-high 28 points—23 of which came in the first half alone. Two other Fresno State players scored in double figures—Alex Sheedy added 13 and Madison Parrish contributed 12 points.
On a positive note, the Rainbow Wahine won the battle on the glass, out-rebounding Fresno State, 45-to-37, tied the Bulldogs, 36-to-36 in points in the paint, and outscored FSU 14-to-9 on second chance points. However, Fresno State tallied 32 field goals—including 11 3-pointers to UH's 21 field-goals.
