MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (11-9, 4-2 WAC) looks to keep pace in the Western Athletic Conference race when it faces Idaho (11-9, 4-2 WAC) on Saturday, Jan. 28. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. PT (6:00 p.m. HT) at the Cowan Spectrum.
The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a 77-72 loss at Utah State on Thursday night. UH's third loss in its last four WAC contests dropped the 'Bows into a tie for fourth place with Louisiana Tech and Utah State. The Vandals, meanwhile, moved a game in front of UH and into a tie for second following it 74-66 win over San Jose State.
UH is led by junior
Vander Joaquim who registered his seventh double-double of the season against Utah State. The junior center tied his career-high with 24 points on 12-of-16 shooting, while also adding 14 rebounds. Joaquim is averaging 18.5 ppg and a WAC-best 11.5 rpg in conference action. The Rainbow Warriors look to snap a four-game losing streak to the Vandals who have swept the regular-season series each of the last two seasons.
Following its game at Idaho, the 'Bows will play its third straight road game when it travels to San Jose State on Saturday, Feb. 4 (7:00 p.m. PT).
