Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team continues Western Athletic Conference action with a pair of games this week, beginning with a meeting versus Louisiana Tech on Thursday, Jan. 19. The game is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center and will follow the women's basketball's contest versus the Lady Techsters at 5:00 p.m.
The Rainbow Warriors (10-7, 2-1) return home after splitting a pair of games on the road last week. UH picked up 74-68 overtime win at Fresno State on Thursday, before falling, 77-74, in an epic battle with league-leader Nevada on Saturday.
Vander Joaquim averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game in those games en route to WAC Player of the Week honors.
The junior center has been simply outstanding in WAC play, ranking second in conference scoring (21.7 ppg), while leading in conference rebounding (12.3 rpg) and blocks (4.0 bpg). Behind its junior center, UH sits in third in the league standings, behind Nevada (4-0) and second-place New Mexico State (3-0).
Louisiana Tech, meanwhile, sits in a tie for last in the WAC standings after dropping three home games, including a pair of contests to Idaho and Utah State this past weekend.
Following its game versus the Bulldogs, UH will host New Mexico State on Saturday, Jan. 21. There will be an autograph session with UH players following the conclusion of that game.

Fans with a men's ticket will be admitted free to the women's game at 5:00 p.m. Special upper level ticket rates ($10-adult; $8 senior citizens, $5 students 4-HS) available for basketball doubleheader from two hours prior to the start of the women's game until halftime of the women's game.
