No. 11 Hawai‘i To Host A Pair Against Pepperdine

HONOLULU – The No. 11 University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team (8-1) will host No. 21 Pepperdine University (6-3) in a pair of matches this weekend at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Wahine play the Waves on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. First serve for both matches is set for 7:00 p.m.

The 'Bows are coming off a stretch of nine matches in 16 days where they won the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational and the Verizon Volleyball Challenge, and finished second at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic.

Kanani Danielson continues to lead the team averaging 3.97 kills per set, and Emily Maeda is averaging a team-high 3.43 digs per set.

UH has a 26-3 all-time record against Pepperdine.

What: No. 11 Hawai'i vs. No. 21 Pepperdine
When: Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17.
Where: Honolulu, Hawai'i (Stan Sheriff Center).
Television: OCSports – Channels 12 (SD) and 1012 (HD) will be broadcasting both matches. Jim Leahey will be calling the play-by-play with Chris McLachlin doing color commentary.

Promotions: Pepsi is Friday's match sponsor and will award a Sunset Dinner Cruise for 2 and a six month supply of Pepsi products during the promotional contest between sets 2 and 3. The Saturday match sponsor is Bank of Hawaii. 
500 Rally Roller Scrolls and 500 Magnetic Dry-Erase Boards with Pen will be distributed at Gate A. Also, Bank of Hawaii will award over $200 in giftcards for the Bank Ohana "Hug" game and toss 200 miniature volleyballs and beanie babies into the stands at intermission. Fans can register at the sports marketing table inside Gate A to win prizes during the promotional activities between sets 2 and 3.
Be an Extra! Hawaii Five-0 will film an episode that includes a special "made for TV" volleyball game after Saturday night's (9/17) UH vs. Pepperdine women's volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Cener.  Show up for the 7 p.m. match and stay for the filming afterwards. Show your pride and wear your green "H" logo shirt!
