LAS VEGAS – The  The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team heads to Las Vegas for the UNLV Nike Classic this weekend. The Rainbow Wahine will face San Diego State on Friday, Sept. 16, before facing host UNLV on Sunday, Sept. 18.  

UH is coming off its first win of the season, a 6-2 romp of cross-town rival Hawai'i Pacific on Sunday, handing Michele Nagamine her first-ever win as UH head coach.

The Rainbow Wahine (1-6) scored two early goals, then poured it on in the second half when they out-scored the Sea Warriors, 4-1 after the break. Five different Rainbow Wahine scored for UH with freshman Tiana Fujimoto leading UH with a pair of scores.

The 'Bows out-shot the Sea Warriors 25-8 for the match. UH ended an 11-match home winless streak in the match, while exploding for its highest goal total in four years.

After the UNLV Nike Classic, the Rainbow Wahine will return home to host its annual alumnae match on Sunday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at the UH practice field.
