HONOLULU – The No. 10 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team opens the 2011 campaign hosting the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center from Aug. 26-28.
UH opens the invitational on Friday, Aug. 26, hosting San Francisco at 7:00 p.m. They will then face Wichita State on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 7:00 p.m. before the tournament finale vs. Arizona on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 5:00 p.m.
Head Coach Dave Shoji begins his 37th season at the helm of the Rainbow Wahine. AVCA All-Americans Kanani Danielson and Brittany Hewitt will be joined by all-WAC selections Chanteal Satele and Emily Hartong, as UH looks to defend its 2010 Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational title.
There will also be a special presentation unvieling the logo for the 40th anniversary of Rainbow Wahine athletics as well as a check presentation to the women's volleyball, women's basketall, and softball programs, the largest donation ever to Rainbow Wahine athletics.
