HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i football team will make at least three appearances on national television this season following the announcement that the Warriors' season-finale against rival Brigham Young will be picked up by ESPN2. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. HT, Saturday, Dec. 3 at Aloha Stadium.
It was previously announced that UH's season-opener against Colorado and road game at San Jose State will be televised nationally. The Colorado game, set for Saturday, Sept. 3 at 4:15 p.m. HT at Aloha Stadium, will air on ESPN2 while the San Jose State game, set for Friday, Oct. 14 at 6:00 p.m. PT, will be televised on ESPN.
The former WAC rivals have signed a long-term contract that could include as many as nine additional games through 2020. Details will be announced as future schedules are finalized.
Hawai'i is coming off a 10-4 season and appearance in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl while the Cougars were 7-6 including a win in the New Mexico Bowl.
Since 2001, UH has made 37 national television appearances, including five last year, three of which were televised on ESPN's family of networks – the season-opener vs. USC (ESPN2), a regular-season clash with Boise State (ESPNU) and the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl vs. Tulsa (ESPN).
