Rainbow Wahine Defeated by No. 72 Boise State, 7-0

BOISE, Idaho -- The University of Hawaii women's tennis team was swept, 7-0, by Western Athletic Conference rival No. 72 Boise State on Sunday afternoon at the Appleton Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine finished the regular season with a record of 8-12 and 2-3 in the WAC.

The Broncos (15-7, 5-1 WAC) started off strong by capturing wins on all three doubles courts to secure the first point. Xenia Suworowa and Natasha Zorec fought hard at the No. 2 court but were outlasted by Elyse Edwards and Sonia Klamcynska, 8-6.

UH was unable to come back in singles action and was defeated on all six courts. Suworowa suffered only her first loss after a five match win streak, dropping her dual match record to 5-1 to conclude her first regular season. Barbara Pinterova and Katarina Poljakova pushed their opponents to the brink but were unable to come out with the victory.

Up next, the Rainbow Wahine will take on Nevada on Thursday, April 28 in the first round of the WAC Championships. The match will be held on Boise State's campus at the Appleton Tennis Center. First serve will be at 12:00 MT (8:00 am HT).
