HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team made quick work of Albany with a 7-0 win in the team's home finale Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. UH improved to 8-10 overall with the non-conference victory.
The Rainbow Wahine were simply too much for the Great Danes (3-9) completing the victory in a little more than two hours time. UH won two doubles matches and won all five singles matches in straight sets, dropping just five total games.
The match marked the final home appearance for UH's lone senior
Natasha Zorec. Zorec teamed up with freshman
Xenia Suworowa for an impressive 8-3 doubles win over Susan Ma and Aubrey Brooks. The native of Maribor, Slovenia then proceeded with a dominate performance in singles. Playing on the feature court as the No. 4 position, Zorec notched a clean sweep of Melissa Coughlin with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The Rainbow Wahine will now conclude its regular-season with a pair of road matches at New Mexico State (April 22) and Boise State (April 24) before participating in the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Tournament beginning on April 28 in Boise, Idaho.
