“Warrior Bowl” Set For April 15 At Ching Field

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i football team will host the “Warrior Bowl,” the team's final spring scrimmage Friday, April 15, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field. The annual intrasquad scrimmage will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The main entrance to Ching Field will be across from the UH Tennis Complex and through the big inflatable Warrior helmet. Bleacher seats hold approximately 800, so fans are encouraged to bring blankets, beach mats or sand chairs, which are allowed on the asphalt and grass areas. Standing on the track will be allowed. Smoking is prohibited inside Ching Field.

Sodexo concession stands will be selling snacks and beverages inside Ching Field and Rainbowtique will be selling UH merchandise.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the Warriors will conduct a full-contact intrasquad scrimmage. Players will be available for autographs and photos on the field following the scrimmage so fans are encouraged to bring their own cameras and items to sign.

This year marks the second consecutive year the team will hold the “Warrior Bowl” at Ching Field due to the ongoing construction at Aloha Stadium. Last year, nearly 1,000 fans attended the scrimmage.

The “Warrior Bowl” is traditionally the final practice of the spring, however, last month's tsunami warning postponed a practice forcing it to be rescheduled for Monday, April 18.
