Men’s Tennis Heads To California For Road Matches

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 74 University of Hawai'i men's tennis team heads out to Southern California for a pair of road matches this week against No. 15 Pepperdine and No. 6 UCLA.

The Bruins (9-3) started out strong this season but are currently on a two-match losing streak. However, they will be providing four nationally ranked singles players – No. 43 Daniel Kosakowski, No. 52 Nick Meister, No. 99 Clay Thompson and tied for No. 108 Maxime Tabatruong – as well as two ranked doubles teams – No. 25 Nick Meister and Amit Inbar and No. 47 Alex Brigham and Inbar.

The Waves (9-2) should be tough competition as well, bringing four ranked singles players – No. 17 Sebastian Fanselow, No. 48 Alex Llompart, No. 58 Finn Tearney and No. 122 Jenson Turner and a pair of ranked doubles teams – No. 30 Hugh Clarke and Tearney and No. 68 Llompart and Alfredo Moreno.

The Rainbow Warriors (2-6) fought hard through an edge-of-your-seat match against then No. 8 Michigan and nearly pulled off what would have been one of the biggest victories in program history. Despite falling short, Leo Rosenberg defeated nationally ranked singles player, No. 45 Jason Jung 7-6 (4), 7-5, for his second singles win in a row. Jeremy Tweedt is also on a two-match win streak in singles action.

Jonathan Brooklyn and Dennis Lajola have been on a roll in doubles action after picking up another victory against Michigan's Barrett Franks and Evan King to boost their dual record to 3-1.
