KOHALA, Hawai`i - The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team faced nationally ranked UCLA on the first day of the Mauna Lani Tennis Classic at the Mauna Lani Hotel & Bungalows.

 

The Bruins, who boast five nationally ranked singles players and two nationally ranked doubles teams, were true to form winning all eight singles and all four doubles match-ups. The day concluded with a special night match featuring top players No. 53 McCall Jones of UCLA taking on No. 109 Katarina Poljakova of UH under the lights. Jones eventually out-lasted Poljakova in a three-set affair.

 

The two teams will conclude the tournament on Tuesday with first serve at 11:00 a.m.
