BERKELY, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team was upended by No. 12 California on Thursday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine fell to 5-9 with the loss.
The Rainbow Wahine fought hard in singles but were defeated on all six courts by the Bears (11-4) who boast four nationally ranked singles players. No. 109 Poljakova suffered her third loss of the season but remains strong with a 10-3 dual match record.
Next up, UH will take on their first WAC opponent of the season, Nevada, on Saturday, March 19. The match will be held at San Jose State's Spartan Tennis Complex. First serve will be at 11:00 am PT (8:00 am HT).
