SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team was defeated by No. 51 Princeton, 5-2 on Tuesday at the University of San Diego's Hogan Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine dropped to 5-8 with the loss.
Alyssa Nafarrete and
Magdalena Ploch claimed the lone doubles victory at the No. 2 court defeating Katherine Flanigan and Rachel Saiontz, 8-5. The pair are on a three match win streak and have improved their dual match record to 4-2.
Barbara Pinterova snapped a six match losing streak and picked up UH's first point of the day by defeating Taylor Marable at the No. 3 court, 6-2, 6-3. No. 109
Katarina Poljakova defeated Hilary Bartlett at the No. 1. court, 6-4, 6-1, boosting her dual match record to 11-2 and winning her second straight singles match in a row.
The Rainbow Wahine will face No. 12 California on Thursday, March 17. The first serve will be at 1:30 pm PT (10:30 am HT) at the Taub Family Tennis Stadium. Following that match, UH will take on Nevada, their first WAC opponent of the season, at the Spartan Tennis Complex in San Jose, Calif. First serve will be at 11:00 am PT (8:00 am HT).
