HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team dropped its second straight home match with a 5-2 loss to No. 62 San Diego State Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine fell to 3-7 with the loss.
The Aztecs (6-5) started the day by sweeping UH in doubles for the first point. San Diego State then won four of six matches in singles with Emma Cioffi providing the clinching point following a 7-5, 6-2 over
Alyssa Nafarrete on the No. 5 court. UH was again led by the stellar play of No. 94
Katarina Poljakova who nabbed a 6-7, 7-6 (3) win over Julia Trunk on the No. 1 court. The sophomore improved to phenomenal 9-1 in dual matches this year. Meanwhile,
Aglae Van den Bergh was also victorious for the Rainbow Wahine scoring a 6-4, 6-2 win over Olivia Colman on the No. 6 court.
Up next, the Rainbow Wahine will face Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, March 2. First serve is at 1:30pm at the UH Tennis Complex.
