HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (4-7) won its third game in a row with a 78-64 win over Denver (8-5) on the second day of the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Shootout. Kamilah Jackson and Kalei Adolpho both posted double-doubles to lead UH to the victory on Monday night in front of 1,460 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

A total of five UH players scored in double digits. Jackson, however,  tallied her 19th career and sixth double-double of the season to lead the 'Bows. She shot 7-of-12 from the floor and 6-of-9 from the free throw line to total 20 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. It marked the second straight game that she scored at least 20 points. Jackson has now scored at least 10 points in 10 of UH's 11 games this season. She also tied her career high with three assists and had two steals as well.

In just her second game of her Rainbow Wahine basketball career, Adolpho came through with her first double-double of her career. She scored 14 points and corralled a team-high 15 rebounds with two assists and a block. Adolpho went 5-of-12 if field goals and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

After a career-high 15 points last night, Kanisha Bello followed with a 14 point performance tonight on 6-of-9 shooting—including a pair of 3-pointers. Alissa Campanero and Vicky Tagalicod both added 11 points a piece.

Hawai'i started the game with Tagalicod draining a trey to go up 3-0. But Denver responded and tied the game with a Morgan Van Riper-Rose three pointer. The Pioneers never looked back in the first half, building as big a lead as 11 points. Denver was able to capitalize by scoring 10 points off of UH's nine turnovers in the first 20 minutes. Hawai'i trailed Demver 32-29 at the half.

But the Rainbow Wahine were able to make critical adjustments at the half and came out firing on all cylinders after the break. A pair of jumpers by Bello and Jackson to start the second half gave UH its second lead of the game. After six lead changes by the 16:23 mark, UH went on a 15-to-5 run sparked by a three-pointer by reserve forward Courtney Gaddis. Hawai'i never trailed again and pulled away building as big a lead as 16 points.

The Rainbow Wahine shot just 36.7% from the floor in the first half, but then caught fire, shooting 16-of-25 in the second half for a 64.0 field goal percentage. For the game, UH shot 49.1% and won the rebounding battle 47-to-30 over the Pioneers. The two teams were knotted at 30-to-30 in points in the paint but Denver was able to convert UH's 20 turnovers into 22 points. But Hawai'i had 16 second chance points to DU's four.

For Denver, forward Kaetlym Murdoch led all scorers with 30 points, but UH's defense  was able to hold the rest of the team to single digits in scoring.

Hawai'i is now 2-0 in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Shootout. The 'Bows conclude their third tournament against UC Davis on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
