Women's Hoops Returns To Host Chevron Rainbow Wahine Shootout

Tournament Notes

HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (2-7) returns home to host the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Shootout, Dec. 18-20. The 'Bows will battle Portland State, Denver and UC Davis in the three-day tournament at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawai'i returns after 20 days away from the SSC. Most recently the Rainbow Wahine embarked on it's farthest roadtrip in program history as it traveled over 4,900 to play Army at West Point (Dec. 1) and Columbia in New York City (Dec. 3). UH split its games, as Army held off UH, 55-51, but then bouncing back to defeat Columbia in a physical game, 66-55 to snap its seven game losing streak. Against the Lions, sophomore forward Kamilah Jackson recorded her 15th career double-double leading UH with game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (11). Senior forward, Courtney Gaddis also had a solid outing, posting 14 points and grabbing six rebounds—both career highs.

Jackson continues to be the anchor of the team, leading UH in both points (14.7) and rebounds (9.0) per game. Senior co-captain Breanna Arbuckle is second on the team averaging a career-best 10.6 points per game thus far. She is also second on the team with 5.9 rebounds per game with a team-high 15 blocks and has a team-high 15 blocks—including four at Army—which pushes her career total to 118.

This week also marks the possible debut of two Rainbow Wahine that will improve the team's depth. Sophomore transfer Vicky Tagalicod (5-9; Forward; Hilo, Hawai'i) will be suiting up on Dec. 19 after transfering after last year's first semester from USC. Freshman Kalei Adolpho (6-1; Forward/Center; Kualapu'u, Moloka'i) will don a different UH jersey for the first time this season after a successful rookie campaign on the women's volleyball team.
