SEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team's road struggles continued with a 3-0 non-conference loss to Seattle Sunday afternoon at Championship Field. The Rainbow Wahine dropped 3-10, including an 0-7 mark on the mainland this season.
The match was tied a halftime and scoreless though 76 minutes, but the Redhawks soared late in the match, scoring three goals in an 10-minute span. Jordan Salisbury broke through for Seattle in the 77
th minute and Ava Ames and Liana Heberer followed up with goals in the 82
nd and 85
th minutes, respectively.
Seattle out-shot UH, 20-8, while also earning nine corner kicks to UH's three. Meanwhile, the Rainbow Wahine were able to generate just one shot on goal.
Hawai'i now returns for its final homestand of the season as it hosts Fresno State (Oct. 14 p.m.) and San Jose State (Oct. 16, 5:00 p.m.) in a pair of pivotal Western Athletic Conference matches at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
