Rainbow Wahine Sweep Spartans

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Chanteal Satele had a career-high 15 kills on Tuesday as the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team swept San Jose State, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19. The Rainbow Wahine improve to 22-1 overall and remain undefeated in the Western Athletic Conference at 10-0. The Spartans drop to 9-14 overall and 4-6 in conference.
 
Satele also had a match-high .464 attack percentage, and Kanani Danielson posted 14 kills with Jane Croson adding a match-high 10 digs.
 
Savanah Leaf led San Jose State with 12 kills.
 
Hawai'i held off a mid-set run by the Spartans to win set one. UH led 12-8 before San Jose State rallied to cut the lead to 13-12 on a Krista Miller block. After Miller (5 kills, 8 digs) and Satele exchanged kills, the 'Bows ran off seven straight points to take control of the set. Danielson's three kills highlighted the Hawai'i run.
 
Set two was close throughout, as Leaf helped give SJSU an 18-17 lead. With the set on the line, Satele re-entered the match and posted a pair of kills to help her team take a 22-19 lead and pace to the win. The third set saw San Jose State trail the 'Bows throughout, with Hawai'i ultimately pulling away to complete the sweep.
 
The 'Bows continue their final regular season WAC road trip, next playing Fresno State on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7:00 p.m. PT.
