HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i won its second straight match over San Francisco with a 7-0 shutout Friday at the UH Tennis Complex. UH improved to 2-1 with the win.

In the second meeting between the teams in the last three days, the Rainbow Wahine again won emphatically, including a sweep of all six singles matches.

The day started with doubles action as UH captured the first point by winning two of the three doubles matches, including an 8-1 victory from the duo of Barbara Pinterova and Katarina Poljakova over Melinda Akerbrant and Julia Wartenburger at the No. 1 court.

UH won all seven matchups in singles, however, USF (1-2), which fell 6-1 to UH on Wednesday, proved much more competitive in the second meeting with three matches going to a third set, including a pair of matches that were decided via tiebreaker. Pinterova outlasted Wartenburger 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (11-9) at the No. 1 court in a marathon match, while Magdalena Ploch beat out Cecile Duriez 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (5) on the No. 2 court to end the day's action.
