Tournament Notes
The University of Hawai'i men's golf team kicks off its spring season with the 21st annual Ameri Ari Invitational, Feb. 2 through 4, at the Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
The Warriors will be sharing hosting duties with Hawai'i-Hilo and competing in an 18-team field, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Stanford, Texas, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, UC Davis, UCLA, USC, Washington, and Western Washington.
Golfers will play a total of 54 holes in the three day tournament, 18 holes each day, and compete on a par-72 course checking in at 7,074 yards.
Ranked by Golf World as the second toughest spring tournament of 2011, the field includes three of the top five schools in the
Golf World/Nike Golf coaches' poll, including top-ranked Oklahoma State, and eight of the Top 25.
In last year's invite, the Warriors finished in 18th place with a 923 total (311-302-310). Top-finisher for UH was junior #T.J. Kua# who tied for 21st at four-over par, sinking 12 birdies on the tournament (74-74-72). Also competing were junior
